White Knight One is a Rutan designed aircraft built by Scaled Composites. It was used as the launch ship for SpaceShipOne during the quest to win the Ansari X Prize for the first privately funded launch of a manned and reusable vehicle into space. This image was taken during it's last flight on approach to it's final landing. It will become part of the Flying Heritage Collection in Everett, WA
My photography is a reflection of some of my loves. Aviation, landscapes, animals and live performance are all subject to capture through my lenses. I shoot with Nikon gear and have always enjoyed the art of photography. One of my great uncles was Carl Siembab, a man well respected in N England photography circles during his time. During the late 50's he was responsible for opening the first gallery in Boston dedicated solely to photography when many in the art world never really considered it a true fine art. Ansel Adams and Aaron Siskind were considered friends. I was a military son and we moved a lot. That is likely where my love of travel and new sights have come from. I know it is where my love of aviation comes from.
