Description
The FW190 was a powerful and lethal aircraft employed by the Luftwaffe during WW2. Along with the Messerchmitt 109 it provided the backbone of German airpower. This example is powered by an American built R2800 engine and is essentially an airworthy replica with a few minor original components.

The FW-190 was a huge surprise to the Spitfire Mk Vs when it entered in 1941.and Kurt Tank took it into the stretched D series and finally the TA-152 for going high and fast. The BMW original engine was replaced by an inline more powerful engine ,but still had the appearance of a radial because of the annular radiator.. It was the best of Germany's prop driven fighters. I would love to fly this with the 18 cylinder R-2800 2,000 horsepower engine by Pratt and Whitney.
