Description
The 109 was one of the German Luftwaffe's main fighter aircraft and was produced in great numbers. It is a classic warbird that saw many German pilots achieve amazing numbers of kills. Their records will never fall. Their are very few original versions left today. Fewer that still fly. This example was a Battle of Britain veteran. It succumbed to combat damage and though it made it back across the Channel, it fell from the sky to rest on the Normandy Coast sand. Several decades later a man walking his dog found some metal sticking up. The plane was excavated, removed, restored and flies to this day!
